Wamego Public Library Summer Reading Program

Fizz, Boom, READ!

May 08, 2014
This year the Wamego Public Library's Summer Reading Program theme is "Fizz, Boom, Read!" The program will explore science topics experiments such as the 5-senses, weather, explosions, and robots! The library provides the Summer Reading Program as a way to encourage adults, teens, and children to continue reading and use their local library throughout the summer. Activities, events, prizes, and more are all a part of the fun.

Registration for the Summer Reading Program, which is free of charge, begins on Monday, May 19th. The program will run from June 2 to July 18 and is all ages! You will be able to registrar online or in person at the library, at that time you will receive your first reading log or challenge log (teen/adult). The program will begin with the annual Summer Reading Program Kick Off on Monday, June 2nd. The Kick Off is to be held in City Park and will have fun activities including balloon animals, face painting, ice pops and games for the whole family.

Another favorite part of the program is all the exciting events hosted at the library. Kids can watch movies at Movie Mondays, sing songs and listen to stories at Storytime, participate in science activities on Experiment Days, and explore science as a family at Family Activity Nights! The Summer Reading Program will wrap up on Friday, July 18 with the Summer Reading Program Finale. A full schedule of summer reading events is available at the library.

Registration will be available online or in person at the library starting May 19. After registration, participants will receive reading logs to begin tracking their reading progress. To keep up to date with the Summer Reading Program, visit www.wamegopubliclibrary.com or like the library page on Facebook.
