Corps offers tour of the control tower

The Corps of Engineers is offering a tour of the control tower on Saturday, June 14 at 11:00AM. The control tower is the cement structure in the lake that controls how much water goes through the dam. The tour will be limited to thirty people. To sign up call the Corps of Engineers office at 785-539-8511 between 8:00AM and 4:00PM on weekdays. Those who sign up for the tour must be U.S. citizens. Nothing can be carried in such as purses or backpacks. Cameras are also forbidden. Participants should meet at the parking lot at the west end of Tuttle Creek Dam.

This program is free. Those who have a fear of heights probably should not consider this. For more information contact Gregory J. Wurst at 785-539-8511 X3171.
