Team celebrates senior manager Meagan Smith between games.
Rock Creek lost both games of the twin bill with Silver Lake. In the first contest, the Mustangs kept Silver Lake in check for a majority of the game; but failed to take advantage of small windows of opportunities. The Eagles scored one in the first inning off of two singles. Rock Creek failed to answer in the next 3 consecutive innings. In the top of the fourth, Rock Creek prevented a big inning, with one out, Brynn Hammett caught a line drive fly to right field and doubled off the runner from first to end the inning. Winter Henry answered with a lead off hit that landed her at third. Despite two squeeze efforts and 3 batters; the mustangs couldn't score. The mustangs gave up a run in the top of the 5th that was walked and followed by 2 hits. Down 2-0, Rock Creek answered with a 2 out homerun by Winter Henry who had the only 2 hits of the game. Silver Lake answered with 3 runs in the top of the 7th to make the final score 5-1. Boltz and Hammett each earned their way to the bases via walks in the 7th, but the mustangs could not find a way to score. The mustangs played errorless and well defensively, but just could not hit. Blair Campbell pitched for the loss with a strikeout and walk and all 5 runs earned.

The Mustangs dropped game two 15-2 (5); as the Silver Lake bunch hit and hit often. The Mustangs doubled up their hit total in the game to 5 hits, but that only plated 2 runs in the fourth inning. Winter Henry and Abbie Plummer started the bottom of the first with back to back hits but were left stranded. With 2 outs in the 4th, the mustangs were able to manufacture 3 back to back hits from Kayla Boltz, Blair Campbell, and a double from Shannon Caffrey. Hammett and Caffrey each pitched in the loss (Hammett); allowing all 15 earned runs. Hammett walked 3, one intentionally; Caffrey walked one and struck out 2.

Between the games and after the double header the team recognized the contributions of senior Manager Meagan Smith. Between the games there was a small recognition ceremony and after the games the Mustang Softball Family shared a potluck meal. Special thanks to all of the cooks and the grill masters Robert Plummer, Mark Caffrey and Scott Campbell.
