Swisher graduated basic training

Air Force Airman 1st Class Jacob D. Swisher graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Swisher is the son of Donald L. Swisher of Assaria, Kan. and Michele R. Watkins of Osborne, Kan., brother of Chelsea R. Schultze of Russell, Kan. and grandson of Karen Foster of Osborne, Kan., Raymond Foster of Osborne, Kan. and Wanda Woodard of Manhattan, Kan.

He is a 2009 graduate of Osborne High School, Osborne, Kan. He earned an associate degree in 2011 from Salina Area Tech College, Salina, Kan.
