Mary Jane Walton, 67, of Topeka, Kans., died Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center. She had been a resident of Topeka for the past 2 years, moving from Ogden, Kans.
Mary was born February 14, 1945, in Lauderdale County, Tenn., the daughter of Woodrow and Virginia Sanderson Connell. She attended local schools.
She married Hubert Walton in Ripley, Tenn. They were later divorced. Mary was a homemaker. She moved to Kansas from Tennessee twenty five years ago, where she lived in Ogden and Topeka. She enjoyed doing puzzle books, doing paint by number pictures and in her younger years, she enjoyed fishing.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Diane Womack and her husband, Perry Harrell, Dyersburg, Tenn., Judy Pritchard and her husband, Stephen Kennedy, Topeka and Teresa Wicks and her husband, James, Lees Summit, Mo.; her son, John Walton and his wife, Sheila, McFarland, Kans.; sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Jo Walton.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 9, 2012, at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Alma, Kans. Father John Pilcher will be officiating.
