Stanley LaRue Sutton: Westy
Stanley LaRue Sutton, 61, of Westmoreland, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. Stanley was born July 28, 1951, in Pittsfield, Il., the son of John N. and Margaret Paoni Sutton. He attended schools in Hutchinson and then Big Lakes Developmental Center in Manhattan. He also had several different jobs while at the Center including making boxes and doing assembly work. He was known for being an excellent worker. Stanley was a natural athlete and had won awards for several different sports. He loved to play tennis, baseball, fish and ride horses. His passion was bowling and he bowled many years in the Special Olympics. One of his favorite pass times was to watch football on TV. He was a member of St. Columbkille’s Catholic Church in Blaine. Stanley is survived by his sisters, Natha Manges and her husband, Floyd, of Westmoreland and Frances Sutton, of Manhattan; his brother, John Sutton of Morganville and his brother-in-law, Larry Wilson, of Kansas City, Kansas; his nieces Brenda McDaris, Peggy Heike, Tina Wilson, Amanda Oliver and Haylee Sutton; his nephews, Tim Manges, Randy Sutton, Rocky Sutton, Jessie Webb; thirteen great nieces and nephews and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Wilson. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012, at St. Columbkille’s Catholic Church. Father Pat Sullivan will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will greet friends at a luncheon following the service. They suggest in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Manhattan Special Olympics Bowling Team, and those may be sent in care of Kufahl Funeral Home in Wheaton.
