Lois L. Hale, 81, of Westmoreland, Kansas, died Friday, November 30, 2012, at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan. She was a long-time resident of the community.
Lois was born on July 11, 1931, in Summerfield, Kansas, the daughter of John and Stella Eastwood. She attended White Eagle and Huff Grade Schools and graduated from Westmoreland Rural High School in 1949.
Lois married Lowell Wayne Friesen in 1949 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They were later divorced. She then married Louis Dean “Hank” Hale on December 31, 1968, in Westmoreland. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2012.
Lois was a secretary for the Pottawatomie County Extension Office for many years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed her Saturday morning coffee group at the drug store. Lois liked doing yard work and always had a lovely yard.
She is survived by her son, Glen Friesen and his wife, Sandra, of St. George. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Carlos Eastwood.
It was Lois’ desire that her funeral service be kept private. Her family suggests memorial contributions to the Good Shepherd Hospice House, and those may be sent in care of Campanella-Evans Mortuary in Wamego. Online condolences may be made at www.campanellafuneral.com.
