The Wamego Lady Raider basketball team completed a successful sweep of substate with a 53-38 win over Holton on Saturday evening.

They began their road to state Wednesday, with a snow-delayed home game against Highland Park, downing the Lady Scotts 69-29. On Friday, the battled a determined home-team Hayden, winning 55-42 which put them in the championship game Saturday.

The Wamego girls have earned the top seed at the state meet to be held at the Bicentennial Center in Salina this week.

The Lady Raiders (22-1) will open against Pratt (14-9) at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 7. The winner of that game will go on to advance to the semi-final at 3 p.m Friday.
